CrewChief not outputting audio through certain sound devices

I was using CrewChief for a while with iRacing and ACC up until last month. I play using my Oculus Quest 2 headset and audio is output via the Oculus Virtual Audio Driver. I never had any issues. But one day, I launched iRacing and CC only to find that no audio was coming through. I uninstalled CC and all appdata and Document files and reinstalled to no avail. If I switch to a different audio device, I can get the initial radio check to play on application startup. But then nothing happens in any game. I have uninstalled the Oculus software and CC multiple times as well as dug into all of my sound control panel properties. But still nothing. All other audio aside from CC works as it should. Can you help me to troubleshoot the issue and, hopefully, figure out if the issue is with CC or with a Windows or device setting?

I know you'll want logs but am not sure how to fetch them for CC aside from the dialogue present in the application UI.

    Thanks!

I'm having a similar issue with a new headset (Razer Kraken Tournament Edition). It actually shows itself to windows as a separate devices for game sound, chat, and mic (I renamed them in Windows Control Panel to Razer Game, Razer Chat, and Razer Mic to be able to pick them easier in Crew Chief). The headset plugs into a small USB control that lets you control overall volume and balance between game and chat. With that said...

If I leave my computer's default output to my desktop speakers, but in Crew Chief set my message playback device to Razer Chat and background playback device to Razer Game, it will generally play the test message when you start Crew Chief. It eventually becomes flaky and then completely non-responsive from a sound perspective. The running log thinks it's functioning properly and playing sound. However, I found that if I change the default Windows output device to Razer Chat, it works continuously in Crew Chief.

I have no answer as to why or a hypothesis as to whether it's Windows acting funky or Crew Chief sending audio somewhere weird.

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but did this get solved? I set up my Quest 2 yesterday and can't get any audio from the headset. There is only the Oculus Vurtual Audio to choose as a 'sound card' and it does not work.

    Any help appreciated,
    Gareth

Same here. CC will talk on my speakers but since the latest patch (and win11 patch at the same time) it won't speak/listen on my HP Reverb even though they're available in the CC dropdown list. iracing, discord and windows has no problems with that source/output.

Applied latest W11 patch (KB5017389) and ran repair of CC 4.16.3.0, checked drivers for HP Reverb G2 (current). CC spotter will speak on Realtek motherboard audio or via HDMI to monitor but will not speak/listen on HP headset (displays in dropdown as Realtek USB 2.0). Was fine prior to 4.16.3.0 and Win11 22H2

Yet to do a deinstall/reinstall of CC as I suspect I'll lose macros.

Try and select a different output device then restart, then select the wanted device and restart and see if that fixes this, you can also try and disable "Use nAudio for playback" in the properties, then CC will use the default windows selected device.

The former did nothing, the latter worked! Thanks.

Another windows patch and now the reverse is true, won't listen on default but will if I turn that option off and pick the device directly. Will turn off win updates.
