    Q: Crew Chief doesn't work, what can I do?
    Q: I can't install/update PC version of Crew Chief. What can I do?
    A: Your Crew Chief installation might've got corrupted. The first step in troubleshooting the application is to completely remove it. You can try completely uninstall Crew Chief and try again. To uninstall:
    * uninstall Crew Chief via Add Remove Programs
    * remove C:\Program Files (x86)\Britton IT Ltd
    * remove C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Britton_IT_Ltd
    * remove C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\CrewChiefV4
    * remove/backup Documents\CrewChiefV4
    Try a fresh install. Get Crew Chief here: http://thecrewchief.org/forumdisplay...ewChief-for-PC

    Also, see this on uninstall problems: http://thecrewchief.org/showthread.p...ull=1#post4134

    Note: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Britton_IT_Ltd and Documents\CrewChiefV4 contain CC's settings. You may want to back those folders in order to be able to restore your settings. Also, CC team is interested in fixing startup issues, and if you zip and send those folders to us it will help us in rooting issues out.

    Q: where does Crew Chief store sound files?
    A: Most often: c:\Users\[your_login_name]\AppData\Local\CrewChiefV4\sounds\
    Note1:AppData is hidden by default - change your Folder options to show hidden files and folders
    Note2: it can be on different drive than c:, in fact even different path. Check USERPROFILE environment variable

    Q: Crew Chief announces "your time is best in your class", why?
    A: Probably, because it considers current race a multi-class race, and compares your lap time to the lap time of an opponent in the same vehicle class. If you don't think that's correct, you are probably running a mod (or official content CC is not aware of) and you need to map all in race vehicle classes to a single CC Car Class. To customize Car Classes see: http://thecrewchief.org/showthread.php?27-Customizing-Car-Classes

    A: You can define new car class or override existing car class and change temperature thresholds. See more here: http://thecrewchief.org/showthread.p...ng-Car-Classes

    Q: How can I start Crew Chief from the command line?
    A: To select the game in CC from the command line, pass -game switch, followed by one of those parameters:
    RACE_ROOM, PCARS2, PCARS_64BIT, PCARS_32BIT, PCARS_NETWORK, PCARS2_NETWORK, RF1, ASSETTO_64BIT, ASSETTO_32BIT, RF2, IRACING, AMS2

    For example:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Britton IT Ltd\CrewChiefV4\CrewChiefV4.exe -game RACE_ROOM -profile "my raceroom profile"

    -profile switch above allows selecting certain profile. See CC readme/help for all supported switches.

    To make CC automatically start using this selection, use "run_immediate" Preference option.

    Q: I need a sound pack for my language, can I record it?
    A: Crew Chief is an open source project, we can't stop you from creating a sound pack for it if you would like to do that. However, it is a large commitment. Before beginning, it is worth checking c:\Users\[your_login_name]\AppData\Local\CrewChiefV4\sounds\ for the scale of work involved, to see if you can commit to the work. Every sound in CC is human recorded and edited by Jim Britton (mr_belowski). Also, keep in mind that application is evolving, so the pack will need maintenance.

    Depending on how different sentence/number formatting is in Your language, it might require code changes to the Crew Chief. Depending on how much work it is we may or may not be able to help.
