mic not working

When I attempt to choose a voice recognition mode, the program keeps telling me to download the MS Speech Platform software. I have installed both 32- & 64- bit versions and attempted to reinstall, as well. However, it still directs me that I need to download the runtime program. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm in the process of changing this - rather than fighting with the library, if you download the crew chief beta (see the beta thread on this forum) it'll default to the windows built in speech recognition system which doesn't require any additional installation. It works better too
