Spotter not working

Just downloaded this app so I'm probably doing something stupid. I have it set so the spotter should be telling me obvious info, like 'car right' etc. I can hear him when they do the little radio check, but in the sim (iRacing), I can't hear him whatsoever. I've disabled the in-game spotter, same result. Am I doing something wrong?

If you are having this issue with road races, turn off realistic mode.
