Hi Guys, new to the Crew Chief app. Have downloaded and updated to Version 4.9.3.3 and I am unable to get Voice recognition to work. Have installed Speech Platform Runtime as well MSSpeech_SR_en-US_TELE. Getting the following Grammar errors

10:33:46.878 : Attempting to initialise speech recognition for user specified location en
10:33:46.900 : Success
10:33:46.911 : Loading all voice command alternatives from speech_recognition_config.txt
10:33:46.923 : Unable to configure speech engine grammar
10:33:46.928 : Exception message: The language for the grammar does not match the language of the speech recognizer.
10:33:46.934 : Attempted to initialise speech engine - success = False

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Grant

that's really odd. If you have the English language pack installed and the "speech recognition locale" Crew Chief property set to the default 'en' (without the quotes), why would it grumble that the languages don't match?

You could try changing this property to 'en-US' (again, without the quotes)

10:34:54.521 : Exception message: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {49428A60-C997-4D0E-9808-9E326C178D58} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

Do you run a 64 bit version of Windows? If so, you may have the wrong speech recognition runtime there. Uninstall the runtime and the language pack, and go through the steps here: http://thecrewchief.org/showthread.php?547-Speech-recognition-trouble-shooting

Also, have you allowed the app to download the sound pack?

Thanks for your reply. I will uninstall and read the troubleshooting thread you have attached. Yes i have allowed the app time to download the sound pack and everything is up to date. Get back to you shortly
Thanks

make sure you use the 64bit installer if you're running a 64bit windows system

Have you checked the 'Enable apps to access you microphone' property in the Windows Privacy control panel?

Have you checked the 'Enable apps to access you microphone' property in the Windows Privacy control panel?

Yeah everything is good there, i have just assigned a different button and crew chief now hears me. Maybe it takes awhile after new install to hear/understand my commands, but i am getting more command responses as time goes by.
You are absolute legend mr_belowski and really appreciate your fast responses.
This is great app and cant wait to use it in race conditions
